Buddhist meditation practice is about understanding that we can profoundly change our life by changing the way we think. We can learn to abandon negative habits of mind that cause us suffering and pain and learn to cultivate positive states of mind that create peace and happiness.
Meditation is the method for changing our mind. The vast majority of us are not "good at meditation" when we start. Just like we work out our physical muscles to make them stronger, we can train our mind to be stronger, peaceful, more controlled. This can seem like a daunting task on your own, so a teacher and guidance are key!
