Elena was hooked from the first Kadampa Buddhist class she went to. It was just over 10 years ago, and the topic was love and compassion. It opened up her mind to a new way of looking at things, and since then she’s never stopped wanting to hear more. As a teacher for the past 4 years, her sincere enthusiasm for the teachings helps her convey their deep meaning and also their practical benefits in everyday life. Lately she’s been inspired by a quote from How to Transform Your Life, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso: “We are all interconnected in a web of kindness from which it is impossible to separate ourself. Everything we have and everything we enjoy, including our very life, is due to the kindness of others."
Starting this month Elena will teach the Wicker Park Sunday morning class, which resumes on Sunday, April 11 as an in-person only class. She previously taught the Thursday evening live-stream class.
