Details

Arya Tara is a female Buddha, and her name means “Rescuer.” She is known for her wisdom & swift compassion and her ability to protect living beings from fear and danger.

This retreat is a powerful method to overcome obstacles in your life, let go of fear and inner negativities, give your mind strength and inspiration, and help you create future good fortune and happiness for yourself and others.

The retreat begins on Friday evening at 7pm with a brief introduction to the practice. The retreat spans 24 hours, with six, 1-hour sessions repeated every four hours. Each retreat session includes traditional prayers and mantra recitation. This is a drop-in retreat, so you are welcome to attend a single session or the whole retreat. No previous experience of meditation or Buddhism is necessary, and absolutely everyone is welcome.

Friday, June 7

TEACHER

Gen Kelsang Zamling, the Resident Teacher (main teacher) at KMC Chicago, has over 20 years of experience teaching and practicing meditation. Adept at guiding both new and experienced practitioners, he’s known for his practical approach, warmth, and clarity. He is also an immaculate example of someone who has taken Buddha’s teachings to heart.
